Whole60, Day 10

Day 10:  Sept 12, 2013

[I obviously would have difficulty completing a NaNoBloMo, but I’ll recap Day 10 anyway]

Today was relatively easy, although I had another urge to hop on the scale.  I’m trying to eliminate that as a source of measurement, and allowing my self esteem to be tied into that device.  I don’t wear a number on my back, and there are plenty of skinny folks who aren’t healthy, either.  I really want to have a healthier relationship with my body, and this is one way to do that.

I whined to Robin about this, and she suggested I try on a top that had been too tight for me  before I started this.  So, I pulled on a workout tank top that was a little snug; it was definitely looser (although still a little snug).  So, I weighed myself without actually weighing myself.

I also hit a milestone on the Whole30 – I actually ended up working through lunch and wasn’t even hungry! I think this means I’m (finally) fat-adapted, and my blood sugar spikes are hopefully (mostly) a thing of the past.

I had my last in-person meeting for my Kiwanis club tonight, which meant I wasn’t going to be eating until about 8 pm at the earliest.  I made plans to have an apple with sunbutter, and knew what I was going to have at the dinner (Pot roast w/o gravy, as gravy is generally laden with flour).   That worked well, and I didn’t even finish my entire dinner, another first.

I purchased a new apple corer and made apple rings like my mom used to make when I was little – yum:
